AC Shadows Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden rituals and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The storyline features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret cult.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome enemy" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Transformations
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Extra Content
Players who finish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana in addition to several items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also brings the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
